Umeta started in 1926 as a small forge for precision turned parts, founded by Hermann Ulrichskötter. It grew into a specialist in grease nipples and today makes them in Bielefeld, Germany. The company says it was the first in its industry to be certified to ISO 9001, in 1994.
In 2024 Umeta joined the WIGGEN Group. Production stays in Germany, with its own CNC turning, and it holds about 10 million nipples in safety stock so that standard parts ship fast. In recent years it has added lead-free grease nipples and the SnapStar grip coupler.
